Allow your home's colors to tell your soul's narrative!

Color coordination in the home is an important aspect of interior decoration. It has the power to build or ruin your home perception. As a result, you have to choose your home tones with extra attention. Colors are the simplest solution to leave a mark or influence the atmosphere of a space in home décor. And when it comes to house colors, wall shades have a significant role. They represent about 60 percent of the overall colors in your home. The rest include colors of furniture, ceilings, seats, and flooring, among other things. However, selecting colors for your home is not a simple task. To get a good color scheme for your space, you'll have to go through a few stages.

  • Primer is the prime thing: choose a right primer for your walls so that the previous colors don’t interfere with the new tones
  • Explore colors: Don’t stick to any particular tone, try playing with different colors.

Keep in mind the conditions

Before deciding on a color scheme for your house, think about

  • the amount of light in the rooms,
  • the size of the rooms,
  • the ceiling height, etc.

Some colors may appear attractive on the color wheel, but they may not be appropriate for your space due to light, ceiling height, or other factors.

Keep in mind the furniture colors/design

The colors of your home will be influenced by your furniture sets. So, while choosing colours for your home, keep them all in mind.

Now how to select the right colors?

Lighter tones for smaller rooms

If you have a tiny property with space constraints and bedrooms, brighter colors are the way to go. Soft tones, such as off-white, light blues, and greens, make places appear lighter and more pleasant. You may also use pastel, earthy or watery tones.

Dark shades should be avoided in tight spaces since they might make the space appear confined and cave-like. Whites are a wonderful choice for tiny spaces, but too much of them may make the space feel cold and lifeless. As a result, you can go for more delicate whites like cream, butter, ivory whites, and so on.

The Ceiling & the Walls should be painted in similar tone

Paint your ceilings the same color as your walls if you have a low ceiling height. This one may be done in lighter colors or whites. The same color scheme will blur the distinctions between your walls and ceiling, giving your rooms a taller and more spacious appearance. Ceiling colors that are lighter than your wall colors are also an option. For example, if your walls are cream, bright white ceilings are a good choice. Lighter ceiling colors make rooms appear higher and more expansive.

So, once you are done deciding about the colors after a lot of color brainstorming, don’t forget to decorate your home with some wall arts, lamps, vintage and delicate sculpture pieces and some nostalgic mirrors.
