Home cleaning hacks: Do It Yourself

Home cleaning hacks: Do It Yourself

1.Olive oil can be used to buff surfaces.

Have you ever heard that olive oil can clean your house? Well, it won’t do it by itself but you will do it yourself with olive oil.

Do you remember buffing your DVDs to make them shine and spotless? What an era that was. Well, let’s jump back to the present. You can clean your pans, pots and electric appliances by putting a small amount of olive oil on a cloth and rubbing it in circular motion on the area you want to buff. It will shine bright as you wanted it to be.

2. Eliminate water stains with shaving cream

Are you sick of those water stains on your tabs and shower glass? Where is your shaving cream? Yes, shaving cream! Apply shaving cream on your shower glass and spread it all over. Let it sit for 15 minutes and then rub it gently with a sponge on the glass and wash. Do the same with your tabs as well.

3. Are you sick of dirty bathtubs?

Are you tired of dirty tubs and not enjoying the shower with that mental comfort of lying in a clean and shiny tub? Leave this torture behind, we have got some interesting hack for you to clean your bathtub like a professional.

Pour one cup vinegar, half a cup baking soda, and hot water into an empty tub and let rest for five minutes. Fill the tub with hot water until it is about one-quarter full, then let it sit for another five minutes. Then, open the drain and thoroughly rinse.

Now enjoy bathing in a super clean tub with sassy curtains.

4. Use it for the toilet as well.

You can use the same solution for the toilet and you would wonder how helpful it is while saving you a lot of money.

5. Lemon will clean your microwave

In a microwave-safe dish, combine 15 drops of lemon essential oil, or lemon juice with one and a half cups of water and microwave on high for 5 to 10 minutes. The lemon juice will evaporate as steam and become adhered to the microwave's walls and ceiling. Citrus is really useful for cleaning surfaces. After 10 minutes, just wipe the surface with a dry clean towel to remove all of the dirt.

6. Wearing rubber gloves, remove pet hair

Do you love your pet but are already sick of the pet hair getting stuck on your clothes, sofas and carpet? Nothing really works to pull them off right? Where are your plastic gloves? If you don’t have one, go and get them because they will change your life. When rubber is pressed against cloth, it generates elasticity, which may be used to collect any leftover pet hair. When you're finished, rinse the gloves under running water to remove the hair and resume them as many times you want.
